The Chipotlane: how Chipotle’s pickup lane works
A Chipotlane is Chipotle’s drive-up lane for collecting app and website orders without leaving the car, introduced in 2018 and at nearly 30 percent of restaurants by the 1,000th in November 2024; there is no ordering at the window, the price is the pickup price, and only the app shows which restaurants have one.

Not a drive-through
A Chipotlane takes no order at the window. The order is placed in the app or on the website, and the lane hands it over; the brand describes it as a digital order pick-up lane and times the stop at under thirty seconds. There is no menu board, no speaker, and no counter-style build at the car. The how to order guide walks the app order.
Which restaurants have one
The brand does not publish a list. Its directory of 4,160 restaurant pages names six amenities (Delivery, Catering, Free WiFi, Children's Menu and Onsite Parking) and no lane; the ordering menu record for each of the 372 restaurants read carries a lane flag that read false at every one, which contradicts the brand’s own count and so is not used on this site. The app is the only published way to tell: a restaurant with a Chipotlane offers the lane as a pickup choice at checkout.
The price
Pickup at the pickup price: a chicken burrito is $9.80 at the median through the lane as at the counter, not the $12.75 delivery price. The pickup against delivery page lists both prices for every item. The lane is the brand’s answer to the delivery markup for anyone with a car.
Where the new lanes are going
The directory’s open dates show the pace: 312 pages dated 2025 and 230 dated 2026 so far, the latest 21 October 2026. The brand said at least 80 percent of 2025 openings would include a lane; it does not say which, so this site does not either. The restaurant count by state page lists new restaurants by state.
New restaurants by opening year
The lanes concentrate in the newest restaurants by the brand’s own account (“In 2025, Chipotle anticipates opening between 315 to 345 new restaurants with at least 80% including a Chipotlane.”), and the directory carries an opening date on most pages.
