How much are Chipotle’s delivery fees?

Chipotle delivery costs a markup and a fee: the brand’s own delivery menu prices items 30.1 percent above pickup at the median ($12.75 against $9.80 for a chicken burrito), and the checkout adds a service fee except in CA, CO, CT, MA, MN and VA, with a $10 minimum order.

Two fees, one of them hidden in the price

Chipotle’s delivery costs two ways. The visible way is the service fee the checkout adds. The other is in the menu itself: every ordering menu read carries a second, higher price for delivery beside the pickup price, 30.1 percent above it at the median across the entrees and 30 percent across every priced item, and that markup is charged before any fee. The brand’s own terms say so: “Higher menu prices are charged for delivery; additional service and other fees applied at checkout as well (except in CA, CO, CT, MA, MN and VA).”

What the markup adds

Pickup against the brand’s own delivery price, medians across 368 restaurants read 25 September 2026

Chicken Burrito $9.80 $12.75 $2.95 30.1%
Steak Burrito $11.80 $15.35 $3.55 30.1%

Chips $1.95 $2.55 $0.60 30.8%
Fountain Drinks (soda and iced tea) $3.20 $4.15 $0.95 29.7%
Chicken Kid’s Quesadilla $5.20 $6.75 $1.55 29.8%
Family Meal - Chicken $53.00 $69.00 $16.00 30.2%

A chicken burrito, chips and guacamole and a fountain drink are $17.90 for pickup and $23.25 on the delivery menu at the medians, $5.35 more before the service fee and the tip. The widest markup on the menus read was on the San Pellegrino Sparkling (30.8 percent), the narrowest on the Large Salsas (side) (29.2 percent). The pickup against delivery page has every item.

The service fee and the minimum

The brand’s terms name the fee and a minimum without a figure: “Minimum order $10 USD / $12 CAD excluding tax and fees; maximum item numbers apply as well.” “Valid only on Chipotle website or the Chipotle app; not valid on orders placed via third-party delivery platforms.” The six states named in the terms are where the service fee is not applied; the higher menu price applies everywhere.

When the delivery fee is zero

The brand runs $0 delivery fee windows tied to launches; the most recent on the pages read: “To celebrate the return of Pollo Asado, Chipotle is offering a $0 delivery fee on Pollo Asado orders placed through the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com and Chipotle.ca from August 31 through September 13.” Its terms keep the markup: “Higher menu prices are charged for delivery; additional service fee applied at checkout as well.” And the offer excludes catering: “Offer is not valid on catering or Burritos by the Box orders.” The 2023 National Burrito Day terms read the same way, with a promo code.

Third-party apps

The brand’s offers exclude them (“Valid only on Chipotle website or the Chipotle app; not valid on orders placed via third-party delivery platforms.”) and its rewards do not accrue on them: the free chips and guac terms say “Not valid on catering or orders on third party delivery platforms.” The menus this site read are the brand’s own; a third-party app’s prices are that app’s.

The two prices, item by item

The brand’s own delivery price beside the pickup price for the burritos and bowls, at the medians read, and the gap between them; this is the markup before the service fee and the delivery fee the checkout adds.
